Vigorous discussion, fresh ideas: MIM Expert Group visits AVS Römer
On 7 May, the MIM industry gathered at AVS Römer.
The MIM Expert Group met for an in-depth discussion on metal powder injection moulding. Thirty-two companies, united by a shared passion for the further development of MIM (Metal Injection Moulding) technology, were in attendance. With MIM technology, AVS Römer offers the ability to manufacture precision steel components with complex shapes cost-effectively.
For years, the MIM Expert Group has stood for a strong network spanning industry and research. Parts manufacturers, powder and feedstock producers, machine and furnace builders, as well as research institutes, use the platform to share experiences, discuss challenges and develop solutions together. The event focused on the implementation of MIM technology at AVS Römer. Factory tours provided insights into processes and solutions. Specialist presentations, such as “The Latest on MIM of Titanium and Titanium Alloys” by Sebastian Hein from Fraunhofer IFAM, as well as discussions, created space for new perspectives. The personal exchange with key players in the industry strengthened existing relationships and opened up new opportunities for collaboration.
AVS Römer was delighted to host the event and looks back on a meeting characterised by diaogue, practical relevance and joint development.
